Is a promise.

Of truth,
Of meaning,
Of something more,
And further, and deeper
Than just the words on the page.

My prayer
My Christmas wish
And, New Year’s resolution

Is that we might find together
A living claim upon the promise of our story
Within the pages of “the old, old story”
Of Jesus and his love.

As you look back over the last
And, forward to the next

May you see further and deeper,
Something more,
The meaning
And truth

Of God’s great longing
For us all.
