Between Christianity & Christ: A Religious Dialogue

“I want to live a good life. A purpose filled life. Maybe even a life worth dying for.”
I Am the Resurrection and the Life

“I can tell right from wrong, and I always try to do the right thing.”
Apart from me you can do nothing. I Am your Righteousness

“I see myself as a decent person. A person of character and integrity.”
I Am Holy

“I consider myself strong-willed and determined. But, I wish I could be stronger.”
My strength is made perfect in weakness. I Am all Strength

“I would like to be more loving; and to be more loved. I want to know what love is.”
I Am Love

“I cherish my Bible; God’s Word.”
I Am the Living Word; the Word Made Flesh

“I can’t forget the past. I can’t stop worrying about the future.”
Before Abraham was, I Am

“I long for peace of mind, peace on earth, peace like a river.”
I Am your Peace

“I believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God…”
I Am gazing upon your face through the eyes of a child
I Am calling out your name with a Shepherd’s voice
I Am reaching out to you in a stranger’s need
I Am standing at your door and knocking
I Am jealous for you like a lover
I Am waiting for you
I Am with you

Abide in me

Amen

Wow Brian, great work! I am thinking this week about the tension within Christianity (coincidently) and in scripture. Some might call them contradictions, I prefer tension or complimentary things. The last paragraph in your dialogue comes back to the most recent I have stumbled on: The Christ who "abides" and the Christ who journeys with (I am with you...). The God who abides, God who is "here" and God who is "everywhere." Thanks for your writing.
