You spoke, Lord God, and it was so.
You saw that what was - was good!

There must have been something about Light that pleased You.
Something to the ordering of Sun, Moon and Stars
making You smile.

Something in the Dance of Life across the sky,
through the waters and across the ground
returning your blessing to You.

What then, Lord, did you see and say, "It is not good."?
That the man should be alone.
How is it, Holy Spirit, Voice and Vision,
that two are better than one?
For if they fall, one will lift up the other.

Why, Beloved Son of our Father in heaven,
are the "greatest" commandments hardly breakable
apart from the living presence of community (human and divine)?

Wherever two or more are together in your name--
Where the needs of the very least
reveal the presence of the Most High--

The Love that You are and the Life that You give,
Leave little room for faith that is not a gathering
and a sharing of heart and soul and strength.
